Position Summary
Seeking an Assistant Project Manager (APM) to support project execution from award through closeout. The APM will work closely with Project Managers and field leadership to keep projects organized, on schedule, and compliant with contract requirements.
This role is ideal for someone with hands-on construction experience who wants to grow into project management, or an early-career PM with a background or strong interest in metals and structural trades.

Key Responsibilities

- Support the Project Manager in day-to-day coordination of projects from initiation through closeout.
- Assist with takeoffs and scope verification for all projects.
- Set up new project structures in Procore based on project type.
- Send introductory emails to clients with billing and insurance documentation requirements and coordinate with accounting.
- Assist in building preliminary project schedules in Procore, including all tasks and sub-tasks.
- Review project budgets with the Project Manager to ensure a clear understanding of material and labor requirements.
- Generate RFIs as required.
- File permits, track permit progress, coordinate with detailing teams, and provide status updates to clients.
- Verify stock materials and allocate inventory to projects.
- Source materials, generate RFQs to vendors, and negotiate pricing.
- Generate and initiate purchase orders while tracking lead times and deliveries.
- Generate project kit lists and delegate for processing.
- Prepare and submit change orders for client approval.
- Maintain accurate project documentation and correspondence in Procore.
- Monitor project timelines and identify potential delays or scope gaps.
- Provide weekly project updates to clients.
- Support project closeout documentation, including as-builts, warranties, and lien releases.
- Prepare and distribute meeting minutes, look-ahead schedules, and status reports.
- Initiate and track company inspections related to project management and installation teams within Procore.
- Track equipment resource check-in/check-out activities in Procore.
- Degree in Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field.
- 3 to 5 years of Construction industry experience required.
- Background in miscellaneous metals, railings, stairs, structural steel, or architectural metalwork is highly preferred.
- Proficiency with Procore and Bluebeam.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to work independently and collaboratively.
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
