Senior Accountant (Government Contracting)
Location: Arlington, VA (Mostly Remote)
Our client is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their growing accounting and finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional with government contracting (GovCon) experience who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys working with complex accounting processes in a dynamic organization.
This position offers a primarily remote work arrangement with occasional onsite presence in the Arlington, VA area as needed.
Responsibilities

Prepare and review monthly journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reports

Support month-end and year-end close activities

Assist with government contract accounting and compliance requirements

Ensure accuracy of financial records and adherence to accounting policies

Support audits, financial statement preparation, and reporting requirements

Analyze accounting data and identify process improvement opportunities

Collaborate with cross-functional teams on financial and operational matters

Assist with special projects and ad hoc reporting as needed
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance

CPA required

Experience working in a government contracting environment

Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting

Experience with account reconciliations, month-end close, and general ledger accounting

Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills

Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating effectively with the broader team
