Overview
A well-established, mission-driven organization is seeking a Senior Accountant to support its day-to-day accounting operations and financial reporting. Key Responsibilities
- Support and execute the monthly close process, including journal entries and reconciliations
- Maintain and manage the general ledger, ensuring proper classification across programs and grants
- Prepare financial reports, schedules, and account analyses
- Assist with budget tracking and variance analysis
- Support grant accounting, compliance, and reporting requirements
- Contribute to audit preparation and external audit requests
- Collaborate with internal teams to provide financial insight and reporting support
- Identify and implement process improvements across accounting workflows
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 3–7+ years of accounting experience, with non-profit exposure strongly preferred
- Hands-on experience with:
- Month-end close
- Account reconciliations
- Financial reporting
- Exposure to grant accounting, fund accounting, or donor-restricted funds preferred
- Experience with accounting systems (QuickBooks, Intacct, or similar)
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment
